The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) Find a Therapist Directory is intended to provide information about ICEEFT community members who have, at minimum, completed an Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy. The Find a Therapist Directory is not a therapist referral service. ICEEFT cannot and does not provide any warranties related to the information contained in or resulting services from any of the mental health care providers (therapists, counselors, psychologists, social-workers, marriage and family therapists, and other health providers) listed in the ICEEFT therapist directory. Information accessed through the ICEEFT therapist directory is provided "AS IS" and without any warranty or endorsement, either expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness. ICEEFT does not warrant the competence of any mental health care provider listed in the ICEEFT therapist directory. ICEEFT does not warrant that the mental health care providers listed in the ICEEFT therapist directory are currently or properly licensed. ICEEFT cannot and does not provide any warranties related to the information contained in or resulting services listed in the directory. Under no circumstances should the ICEEFT therapist directory be used to verify the credentials of mental health care providers. Therapist Type

  • EFCT (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy): Therapists specializing in couple therapy.
  • EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy): Therapists focusing on therapy for individuals.
  • EFFT (Emotionally Focused Family Therapy): Therapists trained to work with families.

Training Levels

  • Therapist: Has completed the foundational training in EFT.
  • Additional: Additional training beyond the foundational level (only applicable to couple therapists).
  • Certified: Completed additional training and is Certified in their EFT specialization.
  • Supervisor: Certified and further trained to mentor and supervise other therapists.
